Responsibilities:

• Responsible for phase appropriate synthetic route design, practical implementation of synthetic processes and controls for regulatory starting materials, intermediates, and drug substances.
• Establish drug substance early development control strategies with a long-term vision of the commercial process.
• Work closely with cross functional teams to ensure seamless transitions between drug substance and drug product programs.
• Work closely with other senior members of the Technical Operations group to help evaluate and select pharmaceutical development and manufacturing CROs and CMOs.
• Ability to coordinate with internal and external quality control, quality assurance, and regulatory personnel to resolve technical issues or deviations.
• Project leadership and management of multiple drug substance CMO/CRO activities and manufacturing operations for projects under development including technology transfer.
• Review master batch records, stability, and development reports for GMP activities.
• Authorship of regulatory documents and technical reports.
• Build appropriate risk management strategies for chemical development manufacturing.
• Up to 20% travel will be needed for scientific project management and monitoring of critical project activities.

Qualifications:

• Ph.D in synthetic organic chemistry, minimum of 8 years of experience in the small molecule pharmaceutical industry.
• Hands-on laboratory experience with different stages of drug substance development.
• Chemical development experience with chiral molecules and chiral crystallizations preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively on multiple projects and with numerous stakeholders in and outside of the Technical Operations group.
• Thorough understanding of the synthetic and analytical techniques necessary for proper polymorph screening, optimization, and patent protection.
• Extensive understand of GMPs, GLPs, ICH guidelines, and industry best practices.
• Experience with Design of Experiments (DOE) and Quality by Design (QbD) principles.

Responsibilities:

• Directly supervise IHC team members
• Manage histology projects and priorities across IHC team members
• Manage companywide project requests and provide cross-functional communication for histology-related projects
• Contribute to experimental design and execution, analysis and interpretation of data
• Develop and implement new assays and new functionality for project needs
• Oversee sample/data organization logistics and assay/data QC

Requirements:

We are seeking an Immunologist to build and lead our immunotherapy efforts within the UNITY Research Team. This position will afford the successful individual an opportunity to be part of a highly motivated and engaging group of scientists interrogating novel biology and searching for senolytic targets. As part of the Unity team, your discoveries in age-related biology have the opportunity to translate into a pipeline of differentiated medicines. The ideal candidate should be a highly innovative, creative and self-driven scientist with broad immunotherapy (Oncology preferred) experience developing in vitro and in vivo models and a proven track record leading functional teams towards the successful identification of novel targets and clinical candidates.

The successful candidate will be a strong individual contributor, team leader, and integral part of our discovery efforts. Responsibilities :

• Work in close collaboration with scientists to plan and explore nascent biological hypothesis testing for progression into therapeutic drug discovery programs
• Align and coordinate scientific direction and activities between internal and external scientists (academic and industrial CRO collaborators)
• Support drug discovery programs transitioning into in vivo animal studies (including models to assess the early safety and efficacy of potential candidates)
• Design and implement project plans to allow data driven decision making
• Develop timelines (Gantt charts) for the tracking of project deliverables and task interdependencies
• Identify program risks and resource limitations allowing for the development of mitigation and contingency planning
• Drive project meetings with a focus on agendas, meeting minutes and actionable next steps
• Construct and track program budgets to align with organizational financial planning
• Responsible for R&D project management processes including annual program goal setting & quarterly reviews, prioritization of key project objectives, go/no-go decisions, data reviews based on key milestones

Background and skills :

• The ideal candidate will have a background in science with prior experience managing projects in academic, scientific or drug discovery organizations
• Bachelors degree required, PhD in biology or chemistry preferred
• 5+ years relevant work experience, 1-2 years direct project management experience in academic, biotechnology or pharma industry settings
• Demonstrated ability to manage and lead teams in early target identification and pathway characterization for drug discovery projects
• Evidence of advanced problem-solving, innovative thinking, strategic planning to deliver creative solutions

The successful candidate will be a strong individual contributor, team leader, and integral part of our discovery efforts. Responsibilities will include developing in vitro cell- and tissue-based assays and serving as the in vitro lead on multiple therapeutic teams. Requirements:

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with 0-2 years of scientific experience in the biopharmaceutical industry
