Ocular Scientist in vivo Pharmacology Research Associate, Image Analysis


We are seeking to hire a Scientist with oncology expertise to join the in vivo pharmacology team at Unity. This position will afford the successful individual an opportunity to discover and develop innovative drugs for an emerging and exciting biology and to translate our science into a pipeline of differentiated medicines. The ideal candidate should be highly innovative and creative with relevant experience developing in vivo models of cancer in rodents.

The successful candidate will be a strong individual contributor, team leader, and integral part of our discovery efforts. Responsibilities will include designing and conducting in vivo studies to establish PK/PD relationships, efficacy, biomarker identification and analysis.  The duties of the job include experimental design and execution, analysis and interpretation of data, and regular presentation (verbal/written) of results and interpretation at group, project team, and Discovery team meetings.


  • Ph.D. + post-doc with 1-3 years of experience, Ph.D. with >3 years of scientific experience, or Bachelor’s/Master’s degree with >6 years in the biopharmaceutical industry.
  • In-depth expertise in oncology and a track record developing in vivo mouse models, including syngeneic tumor and genetically engineered mouse models (GEMM) to study biologic mechanisms and support exploration of novel cancer therapies.
  • Degree in Cancer Biology, Immunology, Pharmacology, Physiology, or a related field is essential.
  • Evidence of independent scientific ability (e.g.,post-doctoral training) and a track record of scientific accomplishments through publications, patents, and invited presentations.
  • Experience with immunohistochemistry, quantitative PCR, flow cytometry, fluorescence microscopy and a variety of detection technologies (radiometric, colorimetric, luminescence, fluorescence, imaging and label-free methods, etc.).
  • Ability to manage complexity and ambiguity in a highly matrixed work environment.
  • Track record of managing, developing, and mentoring junior scientists and research associates.
  • Creativity and the ability to lead and/or work within an interdisciplinary team in order to achieve technical and corporate milestones.
  • Robust experimental design and troubleshooting skills, and excellent data analysis/mining/statistics capabilities.
