Research Associate II, Cellular and Molecular Biology Manager, Histology and Histochemistry

Unity Biotechnology is seeking to hire a Research Associate/Senior Research Associate to join the in vivo pharmacology team. This position will support preclinical efforts to characterize and develop drug candidates designed to improve human healthspan by altering the course of diseases associated with aging and cellular senescence.

The candidate should be organized, creative and have experience working with rodent (mouse/rat) models to study human disease. The successful applicant will be a self-motivated person looking for a hands-on, lab-based role designing and executing studies using in vivo animal models. Day-to-day responsibilities include animal handling/dosing, experimental design and execution, analysis/interpretation of data, and presentation (verbal/written) of findings at team meetings. The successful candidate will also be expected to maintain compliance with animal care policies.


  • Bachelor’s degree with 2-6 years of relevant academic/industry scientific experience or a Master’s degree with 1-3 years of relevant academic/industry experience.
  • Degree in biology, pharmacology, physiology, bioengineering or other related field.
  • Animal handling/dosing, study organization and experience following IACUC protocols.
  • Familiarity with quantitative PCR, immunohistochemistry, SDS-PAGE, and ELISA-based methods.
  • Experience with Luminex, Quantigene and MSD platforms strongly preferred.
  • Curiosity, eagerness to learn new skills and the ability to work as part of a team to meet timelines and achieve goals.
  • Exceptional communication, organization, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
