Nick joined UNITY to pursue his passion for making an impact in the lives of patients with diseases in dire need of effective and safe therapies.
His clinical development experience extends across all phases of the development cycle. Most recently, Nick served as the Pulmonary Program Development Lead at Global Blood Therapeutics overseeing clinical development and regulatory and commercial strategies. Prior to GBT, Nick was at Genentech leading early stage clinical development and supporting bench-to-bedside translational activities across multiple disease indications including respiratory diseases. Subsequently, Nick served in clinical leadership roles, with increasing responsibility, in late stage clinical development in immunologic, inflammatory and respiratory diseases.
Prior to joining industry, Nick was a faculty member at the Mayo Clinic in the Division of Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine. In addition to his clinical practice, Nick ran a translational basic science lab focused on pathogenic mechanisms of both fibrotic and oncologic pulmonary diseases. He received his medical degree at the University of Adelaide Medical School in Australia, pulmonary clinical fellowship at Mayo Clinic and completed a post-doctoral fellowship in the Lung Biology Center at the University of California, San Francisco.
